Dear Friends In Christ:
The Canton (Calvario) Baptist Temple of Col. Mexico in the city of Reynosa, Tam., Mexico celebrated another anniversary during September with a meeting of the Border BBF fellowship. There were over twenty pastors from churches along the Mexico-Texas border from Matamoros to Piedras Negras across from Eagle Pass, Texas.
The Canton church was started as a mission from the first BBC of Reynosa where Dr. Angel Zapata is founder and pastor. The first pastor at Canton was Elias Lopez who is not pastor of Berean BC in Saltillo. In 1992 Eliseo and Elvia Delgado came to Reynosa to begin their work at the church. Both were saved in our Monterrey work. After Bible College they worked with Lonnie Jr. in Guadalajara for several years. With their three children they have been a real blessing to the overall work in Mexico. Since they came to work in Reynosa they have put together all the hymnals and books that we have published for all Spanish-speaking churches in Mexico and other countries. Their labor of love has made it possible for our printing ministry to supply this need.
As you know schools have started all over the world. In Mexico there are a number of Bible Colleges that have seen a real increase this year due to the results of Youth Camps. The Institute in Cd. Mante had 28 new students this year bringing the enrollment of 69 students. Larry and Sharon Lilly are overseeing this school with help from Dick Redding and others.
The BBC in Monterrey under the direction of the Mexican pastors had an increase in attendance, as did the college under Rick Biven in Allende. Other Bible Schools in Juarez, Chihuahua, Queretaro, Chiapas began a new year. There were EIGHT young people for Lonnie Jar’s church in Guadalajara that enrolled in Bible College there.
PRAISE GOD! This month after several new test the Oncologist told us that there was no sign of cancer left in Margie’s body. He has scheduled further test in THREE months to be sure but we praise God for this good news. We also believe it is a direct result of your prayers.
Yours for souls in Mexico,

Dear Friends In Christ:
Four more churches in Mexico now have a piano for their worship services. Al Williams a piano tuner and repairman has donated and delivered over 40 pianos to the churches of Mexico. His wife Jodie came with him to deliver these last four. Bro. Angel Zapata pastor of our First BB Church in Reynosa came with help and carried the four pianos into Mexico the day after they were delivered. Pastors from Chihuahua, Veracruz, Queretaro and Cd. Victoria in Tamaulipas will pick them up soon.
Bedford Baptist Temple, Texas pastor Ray Johns and Mission representative Randy Loyd have taken the oversight of Matamoros Baptist Mission. Eli Zapata, our grandson in the ministry is pastor of this Mission. The Baptist Temple is making plans to finish the building that will include housing for Eli and his family. The work is growing and there are over 50,000 people within walking distance of the church.
Reports for over seventy VBS show that God is still in the saving business. Because of the unrest in Mexico the attendance was smaller this year that in pasted years. However over many boys and girls were reached with the gospel. One church reported over 60 professions of faith. Others showed smaller numbers, but in all VBS there were souls saved. The Mexican Baptist church of Brownsville, Texas received help from Bedford Baptist Tempe in the form of school supplies and backpacks for all those attending. This work had three VBS this year. In one 16 were saved. In another over 25 were saved and in another ten were saved. Joel Olazaran is the pastor and director of these works. There was an average of about 30 souls were saved in each of these VBS. Praise God for those who have helped with prayer and financies.
Beloved we are so thankful for your continued prayer and financial help for our ministry. God continues to bless with souls and continued growth in attendance. Our youth camps were blessed this year and many young people surrendered their life to full time service.
Yours for souls in Mexico,
Lonnie & Margie

Dear Friends in Christ,
July was another busy month in the work here in Mexico. Since the Mexican schools do not get their vacations until July the VBS have to be conducted in this month and part of August. The reports are good from those whom we have received word. Others will be sending the results soon. Please continue to pray for souls saved during this time of harvest. We also wish to thank each of you who have made it possible for us to reach over 10,000 boys and girls with the gospel.
The different BBM Fellowships conducted their youth camps also this month. Monterrey and Reynosa conducted their camp just south of Monterrey. There were over 150 young people who attended and many dedicated their life to the Lord. Several made a decision to enter full time service and study in a Bible College next September. Many other sections of Mexico conducted their camp. The results will be forthcoming.
The First Bible Baptist Church (Filedelfia) of Reynosa celebrated their 30th anniversary this month with a weekend revival. Missionary pastor Martin Castillo was the featured speaker.
The North Mexico BBM also attended the celebration on Friday 30th. Dr. Angel Zapata is the pastor of the church. He is also on the board of directors of the National BBM as Mission Director. This church has been responsible for establishing over 14 other churches and missions in the area.
Beloved we are ever so grateful for your faithfulness in prayer and financial help toward our ministry for so many years. During this difficult financial time we know that many are making the sacrifice to continue this support. Our prayers are that God would continue to bless you in your effort to reach the lost around the world.
Yours for souls in Mexico,

Dear Friends in Christ,
The DVBS results for 2010 have begun. The Spanish Baptist Church (Jerusalem) of Brownsville, Texas conducted their VBS in June. There was an average of over 100 children who attended. We praise God that FIFTEEN boys and girls accepted Christ as their personal Savior. The pastor of this church is JOEL OLAZARAN who is one of our "preacher boys" from Monterrey.
During July and August there will be seventy VBS conducted in Mexico by the pastors and full time workers. Material has been delivered to the pastors and also to the missionaries of the CBBM in several indigenous tribes and areas where American missionaries have not been able to reach. We will give a complete report after the summer. We do wish to thank each of you who have given to and prayed for this project. You have made it possible to reach over 10,000 boys and girls in Mexico. Please continue to pray for the workers as they teach in these VBS.
Our thanks to go Yvonne Biblbrey for her work on the music for our Spanish Hymnal. The hymnal has been posted on the Web link of the CBBM, which is available to the pastors and workers of Spanish speaking countries. The link is listed above for your use. We ask you to pray for Yvonne's husband, Ray Bilbrey who had cancer surgery during June.
Thanks to you who remembered our birthday during April and June. It is good to be reminded that you are praying for us and care for your missionaries. Margie and I will celebrate our anniversary July 14. God has given us 61 years together in His service here in Mexico. Praise to His name that our two sons are serving Him also in Mexico. We praise Him for our continued health and strength to be in His service.
We are so grateful to you our faithful supporters. During this bad economic time you have been so good to remember us with your prayers and financial support. God has supplied our every need.
Yours for souls in Mexico,
Lonnie and Margie

June 2010
Dear Friends in Christ:May was a very busy month for us here in the work.
We rejoice in the continued blessings of our Lord. Thanks to you we have reached our needs for the finances of all the DVBS material to supply over 10,000 boys and girls with the needed material to learn more about our Lord. Over 70 different churches and missions will conduct Bible clubs during July and August this year.
Last year over 3,000 accepted Christ as personal Savior. Our family continues to be blessed of the Lord. Our son Ronnie, who has served as a missionary in Mexico for over 30 years, received a PhD from Louisiana Baptist University this month. God has used him to establish over 15 churches in Monterrey and is working with two more at present. He has been active in family counseling also.
We have taken another step into the future with technology concerning the Spanish Fellowship Hymnal. A few years ago Margie and Yvonne B. recorded piano music for all 245 songs in our Spanish hymnal. Due to advance technology and some talented young people we now have the hymnal online. The Web site is: http://tribunainternacional.com/HimnariodelCBBM.aspx
This will give access for this hymnal to all Spanish pastors and churches. Also the title of each hymn is in English and Spanish. The music is the same in all languages. I have a list of the titles of each song in English. If you would need a copy of this list. Let me know and I can send it to you.
Beloved we thank you for your faithfulness in prayer and support for our ministry. God has been so good to us. He has supplied our every need. May He continue to bless you and yours.

The History of the Spanish Fellowship Hymnal
When Margie and I arrived in Mexico to begin our ministry the only Hymnal available was "Himnarion Popular" -- Popular Songbook with around 400 songs and cost $3 each. At that time the daily wage for the common wage was $.50 cents per day. Not many could afford one. Only the pianist and director had one. The first thing Margie and I did (with her playing) was to add the English title to each song.
Harold DeVilbiss compiled a small hymnal without music of 96 songs and chorused (some that he had translated. In 1965, with his permission we began to publish these in large quantities at $.25. In the late 70's the publishers decided to discontinue the popular hymnal and began publishing the "Baptist Hymnal" consisting of over 800 songs and costing $12. Few could afford this price.
At that time we began to write, translate, and publish over 65 booklets for SS and other doctrinal material, using obsolete equipment. The masters cost $5 each. We began to publish these books and our monthly bulletin "South O' Border" from 1962 to 1989.
Again with permission we extended the Fellowship Hymnal to 249 songs and choruses. (Margie and I have translated over 50 hymnals; some were included in this addition). At first we only did the words of the songs, which fit on 30 sheets, printed on both sides. We used a blue cardboard cover and saddle stitched the book. The cost was about $.75. Later that year we realized the need for the music. The guitar chords were added by Abel Delgado with the English titles. Sixty pages are needed. The binding was with a plastic spiral. Cost was $1.50.
In 1999 after much frustration with old equipment, the Lord gave us a new FR 2950 Risagraph printer from Japan. The masters cost only $.25 and could print over 5,000 copies if necessary. Praise God it is still in use today. Over 4 million copies have been done with this equipment to date.
It is now small talk to produce 1000 hymnals (the press holds 1000 at a time). First the master copy of the book is make (later Marvin Hooge prepared new master which we still use). The covers have to be prepared apart in lots of 4500 each and cost about $.15. There is a need of 30,000 sheets of paper for each 1000 books.
To print books with music 60,000 sheets are needed printed on both sides. Then they have to be folded for the saddle stitch, which is an old heavy-duty foot-operated machine.
Eliseo Delgado, pastor of Canton Baptist Temple in Reynosa Mexico, and hi family have put together or collated and stapled all the books we have printed, including all the hymnals. After being prepared they are saddle stitched and bound with spiral by Eliseo.
They are then transported back to our place where we use an electric guillotine paper cutter to trim the edges. Since it only cuts one edge at a time, this makes three cuts for each hymnal. Then they are placed in the original boxes and are ready to be distributed to the churches and missions where they are needed.
Another very important part of this process is pastor Angel Zapata of our First Bible Baptist Church in Reynosa Mexico. He is in charge of distribution. This is only achieved mainly two times a year when the BBF of Mexico meet for the national Fellowship meetings.
There are many others who have a part in this process. One year Dr. Billy McClain at Shining Light Ministries printed 10,000 hymnals with words only. These were distributed to other Spanish speaking countries.
We feel that all this has made a difference in the worship services in the churches and missions of Mexico and other Spanish speaking countries. We believe that over 30,000 of the 96-song book were printed. Of the hymnals without music over 150,000 have been printed and distributed. There have been over 5,000 hymnals with music printed and distributed. This week we just finished another 1000 without music.
Remember, this is just a sideline for us. While doing this, with the help of our two sons we have built over 130 churches and missions in Mexico, complete with buildings and a Mexican pastor. We have built and directed a youth camp. Directed two Bible Institutes and have an online Theological Seminary for missionaries and Spanish speaking pastors.
You have made this possible with your prayers and financial help. Some may think we are bragging.Well we are; not in what we have done but in what God has done in, through and sometimes in spite of us.
Yours for souls in Mexico,
Lonnie and Margie

Dear Friends in Christ,
This month we ordered and received all the material for 70 DVBS. This material has been separated into packets for the churches and missions. Thanks to you who have prayed and help finance this project the material can now be carried on the chartered busses that go to our annual pastor retreat the week after Easter. We can still use some financial help as only half the needed funds have come in. For just $50.00 you can sponsor a VBS that will reach over 200 boys and girls with the gospel.
Fruit from the passed: Edna Alatorre de Vargas, wife of Manuel Vargas, head of BBF of Mexico’s mission office and treasurer of the BBFM were in an evangelistic meeting with the First Bible Baptist Church of Reynosa where Angel Zapata is pastor. Sara Alatorre, Edna’s mother was saved in the Tampico church where we served our first four years. She was the most faithful member and worker. Edna was saved and surrendered her life to full time service there. After graduation she and Manuel were married and have served our Lord faithfully many years. The meeting had great success with souls saved and members dedicating their life to a greater effort to win the lost.
Thank each of you who have been praying for Margie and her health. After several new test including CT and PET the Oncologist told us that there has been no change in her condition and that NO CHEMOTHERAPT is needed at this time. Please continue to pray for Margie and me as we serve our Lord.
Beloved as you have no doubt heard, there is shooting war in most of the cities along the Texas-Mexican border. Reynosa has not escaped this violence. Several have died near our works in Reynosa. The pastors report that no harm has come to any of our people, but the violence in always near. Thank you for your faithfulness.

Dear Friends in Christ,
In our early ministry in Monterrey two brothers were saved: Franciso (Kiko) and Alfonso Sanchez both were young men living in a section of the city called Colonia Moderna. Kiko married a lovely Christian girl named Lola. Soon after Kiko surrendered to full time service. His wife worked as a maid so here husband could study in our Bible College. He is now the pastor of Gethsemane B.C. in Colonia Madera and Director of our Bible College in Monterey.
His brother also finished Bible College and surrendered to be a missionary to the Tarahumara Indians in the mountains of Chihuahua. He has served faithfully there for many years. His oldest son Imer graduated from the Bible College in Cd. Mante and is now working with his father Alfonso among the Indians. They have three different congregations. Recently in a special service in Creer, over 140 people were in attendance with four adults saved.
The material for 70 DNBS has been ordered from "Mensaje de Vida" press for this year's project. This is enough material to reach over 10,000 boys and girls with the Gospel message. You can sponsor one Bible Club for just $50. We need your help in order to finance this project. We have to order the material by March in order to get it to the churches when the pastor's meet for the annual pastor's retreat the week after Easter Sunday. Postage is a real problem if we do not get this material on the buses when all the pastors meet.
Margie is recovering well from her surgery. The surgeon has released her. Further tests are to be done by a doctor of Oncology. We will not get the results of these tests until March 10. At that time a determination to have chemotherapy will be made. Please remember us in your prayers.
Beloved we thank you for your faithfulness in prayer and financial support. God continues to bless with souls and in each church they report an increase in attendance since the weather is much better.
Yours for souls in Mexico,
Lonnie and Margie

During the second week of January the First Bible Baptist Church ("Filidelfia") was host to a four state regional Fellowship meeting. There were pastors from the states of Tamaulipsis, Nuevo Leon, San Luis Potosi and Coahuila. Also some pastors from Spanish churches in the USA. Dr. Angel Zapata is pastor of the church and President of the North Mexico Border BBFM.
There were over 150 out of town visitors including 75 pastors and full time workers. Bro. Bruce Bell was the featured speaker and did an outstanding job of presenting the Word of God and giving valued instructions to these Mexican pastors concerning their duties as servants of God. The ladies of the church served delicious meals every day to the visitors from Monday night through Wednesday night.
It is time to remind you that in March each year we need to order the material for our 60 DVBS. This is necessary in order to get it distributed in time for the Mexican pastors and worker to study the material and prepare themselves in the large number of boys and girls who attend these Bible Clubs. Once again we are asking you to help us financially. As you know the cost of things has increased. Last year the cost was $3600. With our "book store" discount of 40% we paid $2565. God provided this amount through your generosity. Please let God lead you once again to help in this great need. This material will reach over 10,000 boys and girls with the Gospel. Over 3,000 made a profession of Faith in the Lord last year.
Margie is a very private person. When sick, she doesn't let anyone know. However a 3.3 cm adencarcinoma tumor was discovered in her colon in December. On January 11, successful surgery was performed. Test show that the cancer was completely removed and that the nine lymph nodes are free of malignancy. The tumor had infiltrated the muscularis propria adipose tissue and six months of chemotherapy is recommended. Please remember us in your prayers for God's will to be done.
Beloved we thank you for your faithfulness in prayer and financial support. God continues to bless with souls and disciples who follow the Lord in baptism.

Dear Friends in Christ,
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL
Phil: 4:19. God has supplied all our needs. Since May 1956 we have had many friends and churches contribute to our ministry. Some have continued until today, but most supported for only a short time or on a special project. If you are receiving this letter (hard copy) it means that our records show you have contributed. There is no way we can ever thank you.
During economical hard time some have suspended their help, BUT GOD has supplied. We made a promise to God we would never cease to serve because of financial needs and He has always supplied and we believe He will. We would like to mention a brief resume of what God has done in our ministry. All because YOU helped:
*I preached my first sermon in Spanish within 30 days of arriving on the field and am still at it.
*With the help of our 2 sons Lonnie Jr. and Ronnie, we have established 130 self-supporting churches and missions, most with their own property and Mexican pastor.
*I have taught in 3 Bible Institutes and been director of one. We have seen over 400 graduates enter full time service.
*For over 40 years we directed a youth camp near Monterrey. Thousands were saved as a result of this ministry. Hundreds surrendered their life to full time service at this camp. Thousands of N Ts and tracts have been distributed in Spanish.
*For over 40 years we published a monthly paper ³South O¹ Border² that sent to each pastor of the BBFI free of charge and we have sent a monthly prayer and praise letter to each of our supporting church.
*I have written, translated and published over 65 textbooks for the Spanish ministry.
*I have translated over 50 songs into Spanish. I have published a hymnal with over 250 songs for the churches. Copies with music and without music.
*I have had an active printing ministry for these and other Spanish literature.
*Each year we have furnished material for over 70 DVBS in the churches.
Reaching over 10,000 boys and girls with the gospel. Between 3000-6000 saved each year.
*In Evangelism we have seen thousands of souls saved through the years.
· I have translated all courses for Anchor Theological Seminary into
Spanish and under my supervision we have seen over 300 nationals and missionaries receive degrees of higher learning in Theology. (Personal: ThG, Sp., BA PCBBC, Ca., PhD LBU, La. ThD, Anchor, and a honorary DD.)
·
Yes, our partnership has produced some very good results for which we are thankful. We will continue until God calls us home or we go to be with Him.
Yours for souls in Mexico.

P. S. The word "I" is used several times. However this has been a family effort. As in most cases Margie the wife has borne the burdens and made all this possible. Thanks Honey!

Dear Friends in Christ,
MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR!
How wonderful is the reason for this season. Celebrating Christmas in the Mexican churches is a very great time to worship and to serve the Lord. The children of the churches present a special program concerning the birth of our Lord. New parents come to see their children perform and many thereby have found Christ as their personal Savior.
Last month, the BBF of Mexico celebrated their annual fellowship meeting in Celaya, GTO. There were over 600 out of town messengers from the churches present for this occasion. The night services were even larger and there were over 750 present each night. The host church attended the visitors with splendor. The preaching was great and for the first time the services were broadcast on the Internet to those who could not attend. The next two meetings, in April and next November, will be conducted at the Rawlings Camp near Cuernavaca. All are invited to attend.
The "Filidelfia" Bible Baptist Church of Reynosa, Dr. Angel Zapata pastor, was a church host for a regional Youth meeting of the Border BBF churches of Mexico. The attendance was great for this all day Saturday meeting. Many of the young people dedicated their life anew to the Lord. All enjoyed a great time of fun and fellowship. Ten churches participated.
Beloved, we are so thankful for your faithfulness in prayer and support for our ministry. Our prayers are with you during these difficult economy times.

Dear Friends in Christ,
Calixto Sepúlveda celebrated his 88th birthday this past month. He was born and raised in a Christian home in a small village near Linares, Nuevo Leon. He began his ministry as a teen and after marrying Lucha (Maria de La Luz) and moved to Monterrey to began working in a factory.
In the early fifties he worked with BBFI missionary Faye Blakeley in a mission in Col. Moderna. (This mission is now Gethsemane B. C.)In 1960 when we moved from Tampico (after 4 years) to Monterrey to began our life’s work he was still working in the factory and was pastor of a small mission. He agreed to work with me and dedicated his life to the full time ministry. He worked with me and was pastor of Bible Baptist Church in Col Martinez for over twelve years. Our highest attendance at the church was over 570. From that work over TWENTY other churches were established. Over 126 churches were established during our ministry. Bro. Calixto accepted a church in Chicago and was pastor there and in the Rio Grande Valley until today. He is still active in the Lord’s work.October was a busy month for us. It was a month of preparation of literature for the BBF of Mexico meeting that will be celebrated in the second week of November in Celaya, GTO. Bro. Angel Zapata and other pastors of the region will be going to this special Fellowship meeting where our annual mission offering will be given, and new officers of the BBFM will be elected. The BBFM has TWENTY missionary projects and are hoping to approve other workers at this meeting. Once again God has provided a minivan for the work in Mexico. A friend has donated a 1992 Plymouth Voyager to a Mexican pastor working Reynosa Mexico. The men’s prayer group of Canton Baptist Temple has helped with some finances to repair the vehicle for service. Praise God for the generosity of these people toward our ministry.Beloved, once again we are so thankful for your faithfulness in prayer and support for our ministry. Our prayers are with you during these difficult economy times.

Dear Friends in Christ:
The pasted few weeks have been very good and enjoyable. It was our privilege to have Harold and Connie DeVilbiss visit McAllen for medical treatment. These days together reminded us of our first meeting of these dear people. Harold came to Mexico as a teenager in 1946. He had studied with Wendell Zimmerman in KCBT in KC, Mo. God called him to Mexico and the Baptist Temple sent him to Mexico. Later he was accepted by the BBFI. He lived and worked in Tampico and oversaw many Mexican pastors who were supported by KCBT. In 1956 God called us to Tampico to work where Harold had established a good work. He and family moved to Mexico City where they have continued to serve since that time. He was a great help to us when we first came to Mexico. His surgery was a success and they have return to their work in Mexico DC.
The BBFI of Mexico has grown from THIRTEEN small missions to a host of churches and missions. It has grown from a supported program with funds coming from the USA to a strong body of self-supporting churches and has a strong “foreign” missionary program with over TWENTY missionary projects. The BBFM meet twice a year, in April and November. In Northern Mexico there are two BBFM Fellowship. One is in Monterrey and Saltillo area called the BBF del Norte. This body of 40 to 50 pastors and churches meet the last Friday of each month in a different church in the area. Another Fellowship is along the TEX-MEX border and is called the BBFM Fronteriza. This group of 30 to 40 pastors is all along the Mexican Border from Matamoros to Piedras Negras across from Eagle Pass, TX. This group meets ever other month from Monday night to Wednesday Noon. This is because of the distance to travel for the meetings. It has been my privilege to win many of these men to our Lord.
Beloved, once again we are so thankful for your faithfulness in prayer and support for our ministry. We do appreciate it very much.

South O' Border
The summer activities had been many. In August still more youth camps with amazing results. It is wonderful how the youth of Mexico are coming to the Lord. All of the camps this year exceeded those of last year. Souls were saved and young men and women surrendered their lives to the service of our Lord. When our Bible colleges open this month, there will be more students than last year. Praise God!
With the help of several churches and many friends we were able to supply material for 70 DVBS again this year. The reports are slow to come in from some of these. Those that we have received are great. One church had over 65 boys and girls saved. The mission in Matamoros had over 50 who made a profession of faith in the Lord, some of these were young people and adults.
To be sure all of the DVBS did not have this large a number, but many did. On an average of 40 souls per school (some less and most more) we rejoice in over 2800 boys and girls who accepted Christ as their personal Savior and made a public profession of their faith.
With the school opening and vacations over, the attendance of our churches have seen an increase. We praise God for the pastors who are faithfully leading their churches. Souls are being saved and baptized. They are active in the national BBF of Mexico fellowship. Dr. Angel Zapata is the director of our missions and member of the leadership . He is a leader of men.
We are thankful for the mission office staff that is serving the missionaries. The new Insurance program will prove to be a real blessing and just an example of the many activities they are doing. Thanks!
Beloved, once again we are so thankful for your faithfulness in prayer and support of our ministry. We do appreciate it and pray that God would continue to bless you each and every one.

August 2009
Dear Friends in Christ:
The month of July was a very busy one for your missionaries in Old Mexico. We rejoice in the Lord for his continued blessings with strength and opportunity to serve. There were several “youth camps” conducted in our section of the country. The pastors of Monterrey and Northern Mexico had over 150 youth in camp and many rededicated their life to the Lord. Several made a commitment for full time service. There was a large youth camp in Cd. Mante where several of our churches participated. It was a very successful camp. Ed Hogland conducted several large youth camps at Rawlings camp near Cuernavaca with great success. Many were saved.
Of course July and August is the time for DVBS in the Mexican churches. Reports are slow in coming in, but so far those who have reported show that God is still blessing the efforts on his servants in reaching the children. One church reports over 450 enrolled with over 50 profession of faith in our Lord. There will be many more reporting this month and even in September. By then we hope to have a complete report on over 70 different DVBS. Thank you who have helped with prayer and finances.A group of eight men and women from Bedford Baptist Temple in Texas, with Raymond Johns pastor, came to Brownsville, TX. and Matamoros Mexico during the week of July 20-26. They brought all the necessary things for two grand “fiestas” in two churches. They had over 500 backpacks filled with school supplies for the children to be given out in FIVE churches. They helped in DVBS in Brownsville Church with Bro. Joel Olazaran where 18 souls were saved. Over 100 backpacks were given to the children who attended DVBS. Dear Friends in Christ:
For several years now American companies have been building their manufacturing plants on the border on the Mexican side of the river. Thousands of Mexicans from all over the Republic have come here looking for work. When people move from their families and traditions they are easier to reach with the gospel. Since we have been here we have been able to build FOURTEEN churches and mission each with their own property, buildings and Mexican pastor.
We have helped many missionaries and pastors who have need of help with contact across the borders. In recent weeks we have assisted several missionaries with things they need to get into Mexico and also help pastors who need to get in touch with missionaries.
Your prayers are needed this month as never before. The materials have been distributed for over 70 DVBS. The pastors and workers have studied this material and are ready to teach the boys and girls about our Lord and the gospel. Please pray that many of these children will find Christ as their personal Savior and that their parents can be reached through the children.
Also, we need you to pray for the Matamoros Baptist Mission and pastor Eli Zapata. A group of men from Bedford, TX., have taken on a project to supply 500 backpacks with school supplies for the children of Northern Mexico. Pray that they will have no trouble getting them into Mexico. Also, they are planning a grand BBQ at the mission on July 24, bringing the meat and BBQ pit. Pray that many souls will be reached on that night.
Beloved, once again we thank each and every one of you for your faithfulness in prayer and financial support for our lives and ministry especially in this time of economic recession. Praise God that He is still supplying our every need.
Yours for souls in Mexico,

Dear Friends in Christ:
During May there has been much said concerning graduations and commencement addresses. All are aware of Notre Dame and their invitation to President Obama. There was the graduation Fellowship in Springfield and the many graduates from this great school. Our other schools had good commencement service, graduating student.
Here in Mexico there were several graduating services from out Bible Colleges. Of course Cd. Mante is number one. Bro. Larry and Sharron are doing a great job in Baptist Bible Institute. Several of the graduates were from our churches. Bro. Rick Bevin had a great graduation service in Allende, N. L. Several received degrees from LBU in Shreveport. The Monterrey Bible College under the direction of the local pastors had their graduation.
The Anchor Theology Seminary (ANCLA) Which we are overseeing to the Spanish Speaking world graduate FIVE students, two received PhD’s, two master degrees and one BA. We also had FIVE new students enroll.
I was able to help a pastor in California, in a very heavy Spanish area, establish a training center using the material from ANCLA. No doubt there will be many graduates from this training center, and many more that will be encouraged in the Word of God.
On the personal side: Lonnie Jr.’s son Brian and wife Alison had a new baby boy. This makes our FIFTH great-grand child. We are greatly blessed of the Lord to see our third generation. Pray for our family as we continue to serve the Lord here in Mexico.
Beloved, once again we wish to thank you for your faithfulness in prayer and financial support for our lives and ministry. Souls continue to be saved and believers build up in the Lord.

Dear Friends in Christ:
This month over 350 pastors, their wives and family celebrated the annual Pastor’s Retreat of the BBF of Mexico in the beautiful city of Villa Hermosa in southern Mexico. The services were great as was the preaching. It was a time of relaxation and Godly fellowship. The pastors approved Bro. Ignacio Guillen as a representative Evangelist for the BBFM. This is still another project of the mission endeavor of the BBFM.
Also this month our good friend Al Williams from OK brought us three more spinet pianos for the churches of Mexico. They have already been distributed to the works that needed them. One went to a church in Monterrey, another to a church in Victoria, Tam. And still another was placed in Reynosa. This brings a total of over 40 pianos that Bro. Al has been able to donate to the work in Mexico. Thanks Bro. Al.
We are proud to inform you that all10,000 student booklets and other materials for this year’s 70 DVBS have been distributed to the churches and missions that will be conducting these schools. The pastors and full time workers will have time to study the material and prepare the teachers needed to have successful DVBS again this year. Many souls have been saved through this program. We are thankful for the many friends and churches that have donated to this project over the years. God is keeping the record of those saved and the rewards will be accredited to your account. We still could use some help on the finances, just $60.00 will sponsor one DVBS.
Beloved once again we thank you for your faithfulness in prayer and support for our ministry. God continues to bless with souls and believers following our Lord in baptism. We praise God for continued health and strength to continue doing our work as missionaries. We realize that the economy is not good, but our faith is in the Lord who has and will supply all our need.

Dear Friends in Christ,
Easter will come to Mexico also. In the USA they have substituted “Spring Break” instead of Easter and each school has a different time to go on vacation. In Mexico they still celebrate two weeks at Easter. One week before Easter Sunday which they call “Holy Week”, then one week after Easter Sunday. All schools are out and many businesses are closed also.
The BBFI of Mexico has chosen this time to celebrate their annual Pastoral Retreat. Each year a different local in Mexico is chosen. Pastors and Missionaries will all go to the beautiful city of Villa Hermosa in southern Mexico. Since the children are out of school, the whole family can attend. Each church usually has special services during the first week to reach those who are naturally thinking of “religion”. Many souls are saved at this time. Unlike in the USA, Easter Sunday is the least attended service of the year. Most people are out of town on vacation.
We ask you to pray for the financial need for the DVBS material for this year. We have ordered material for 10,000 boys and girls that will be taught in 60 to 70 different Bible clubs. The average cost is $65.00. We have received some help toward this grand total, but not near enough. Please make this a matter of prayer. Thanks to you who have already sent, and to you who will send. We believe this is the best investment for souls in our ministry.
Beloved we once again thank you for your faithfulness in prayer and financial support toward our ministry here in Mexico. God continues to bless and with your help He has supplied our every need through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Hebrews 6:10
March 2009
Dear Friends in Christ,
No doubt you have heard about the drug wars that are going on in Mexico. They have been very much in the news especially along the Texas – Mexico border. You can rest at ease to know that your missionaries are safe and sound. To be sure with the international bridges closed for several hours on several occasions is has been a problem, but we have been able to continue our work in the churches in Reynosa and Matamoros.
From day one our mission work has been centered on building self-supporting churches. In order to do this each church must have it’s own Mexican pastor. Each of the 127 churches and missions that God has allowed us to have a part in building has been built on this concept and it has proved to be the best way to do the work.
March is here again. For over 50 years we have used this month as a marker to order the material for our DVBS in the many churches and missions under our supervision. Last year we were able, with your help to furnish material to reach over 10,000 boys and girls with the gospel. God blessed with over 3,000 professions of faith in our Lord.
This year we are once again asking your help in furnishing this material for the pastors and workers in this great ministry. We not only need funds for the material, but also for the shipping. Last year for the first time the cost of shipping was over $800.00. We are looking as a cost this year of $4,000.00 dollars for material and shipping. We do so wish to reach more boys and girls this year. May God lead you in designating funds for this project? The cost per school, including the shipping will be about $65.00. Thank you for your help and we do need your prayers.
Beloved we are so thankful for your faithfulness in prayer and financial help during this time of world economy. We believe that God will supply all our need in Christ Jesus.
