Prayer Letter From the Letts

July 30, 2010

Dear Pastor and Church

Greetings once again in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Since our last letter we have had 8 new churches pick us up which brings us from 68% to 73%. We have had others say that they are going to, as well, so we are greatly encouraged. I was preaching in a Church in New York and during the invitation two young ladies received Jesus Christ as their Savior and many more had come to the altar to pray. So things are happening along the way to which we praise the Lord. Sometimes we get the idea that deputation is all about raising money to get to the field……..no!……it is ,that, but much more…I praise the Lord for every soul that comes to Christ as a result of His word being preached.

We have seen people come forward and receive Jesus Christ as their Savior and several come for prayer but the most exciting ones are those of your own family. Our granddaughter prayed with me to receive Jesus into her heart. She is a beautiful young 15 year old girl that needs your prayers as she grows in Christ…this past week she went to camp which is a great time for growth and change. Then to top it off our 8 year old granddaughter followed the Lord in believers baptism.

Our schedule takes us from home base in Ohio to North Carolina, back to Ohio, to Virginia, back to North Carolina, to Kentucky, to Ohio, back to Virginia. So the month of August is once again a busy schedule. I like it best when we are busy because the more we can share our ministry the closer we come to getting back to the “white unto harvest” field of Australia. I was talking to one missionary that shared with me that he had been on deputation for 2 ½ years and hopes he will hit 50% sometime in August. I can understand that………..but don’t wish that time schedule on any missionary. We still hope to leave the first of the year, and we couldn’t have it in better hands then our Lord…trusting Him is the best way to live. We certainly thank you for your sacrificial partnership with us to do the work in the field of Australia. May the Lord continue to bless and give you fruit for your labor.

Dear Pastor and Church Family,

Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, today is a great spring day which makes you glad you're alive...it also means you have to get jobs done around the house as a result of the long winter. We are trying to get our house ready to rent while we are on the field. Years ago we were able to buy a small ranch home for about nine thousand dollars. It wasn't something you could live in until we did a make over. It was a one bedroom NO bath house...now it is a 4 bedroom, two full bath house...we sub-contracted and did all that work while on deputation the first time. When we finished it we moved to Australia...so the renters enjoy our finished work. Because we rent it out when we go back to the field, it means extra maintenance when we return. So we are in that process right now...but I'm sure you know what that all in tales...Painting, shingles, gutters so on and so on making sure you (meaning me) get as much done as possible to eliminate extra expenses by hiring someone to do the job while you're away.

Well...we are at 68% and have a pretty good schedule a head of us. I sure hope the churches that have promised support can come through before the end of the year. We also have to raise enough to equip us to do the work in Australia once we get there...like 3 months rent in advance, a car, travel expenses, shipping and so forth. So...if that wasn't a hint, I don't know what to call it.

Just recently, we have had the privilege of sharing our ministry in two churches in Kentucky and both has taken us on. Now, we are going back to two more this week...it would be great to continue that pattern. I know I don't have to remind you of the situation our country is in, and yet God's people are stepping out by faith and trusting Him to provide by partnering with us missionaries around the world. Thank you for showing your faith in our all sufficient God.

News from Australia

Dear Pastor and Church family,

It is always great to set down and evaluate the last two months. It is a joy to write to you….even though we are not where we need to be, as far as our % is concerned, we still had 4 churches just this last month, add us to their missions family. We praise the Lord for the direction we are going, our percentage is steadily growing. We have been in many churches sharing our ministry and are grateful for the opportunity. We do hope that many, if not all, will get behind us and help us get back to Australia as soon as possible. Our goal is to leave toward the end of November and that will be here before you know it.

With the economy the way it is we still have people willing to step out by faith and say…God’s commandments haven’t changed, even though the economy has. He is still King of kings and Lord of lords…….and it is “He” who will supply all our needs according to “His” riches in glory. We have seen people come forward during the invitation and re-dedicate themselves, confess their sin and sinners saved by grace. One missions conference, alone, 15 people, many adults, trusted Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. That’s enough to make any believer shout for joy.

Though we would like to get back to work (on the field of our calling) we must remember that the world is the field….and the Lord has said that “the fields are white already unto harvest…” So we will keep on keeping on … raising our needed support which involves proclaiming across our country till the Lord gives us leave to go and every one that makes a decision for Christ is fruit for our labor……we want to honor our God and Lord…and you, can rejoice because you share in that fruit.

For those who have become a part of our ministry, we truly thank you. Please be praying about the additional costs of tickets, passports, a car …as well all the extra expenses to set up the ministry. We are working hard to get there and we thank every one of you for doing your part in this great work of reaching Jerusalem, Judea, and Australia.

News from Ron and Vicki Letts

January 2010

Christmas came quickly for us this year and I bet it did the same to you as well. Today's date is December 28, 2009.....a lot has happened this past year. One of those was that the Lord has given us the privilege of caring for my mother all the way through to her departure to her heavenly home. She died this month at the age of 83...a week ago last Saturday we had her memorial service so it's complete. She is enjoying her heavenly home. Just before she died, the nurses found her kneeling beside her bed praying. They put her back in her bed and ten minutes later she was in Glory.

We knew it would not be long, so a year ago, we started preparations to return to our ministry in Australia. This month we picked up 4 new churches that have partnered with us to reach Australians for Christ, what a great Christmas gift. That puts us closer to that 60% mark during a time that America is struggling. I praise the Lord that He has given us this booster shot in the arm to keep on keeping on.

Christmas time is the most busy time of the year when many of us wished that we could share our faith with someone that is listening, all the while we know that the Lord's Word never returns void. So we go on with hope that lives will change because of what the Lord will do as He brings forth His truth. We hope that Christmas was a great time of reflection for you and your family and we want to wish you a very God fearing and loving year...through all the trials this new year will bring and all the joy the Lord will over flow your cup with. Don't quit what is right and God promises we will reap.

Reaching the Aussie's For Christ

Dear Pastor and Church,

This deputation process has its features and its fall backs. I think the hardest is the phone calls. It is certainly a way of doing it, (it can't be the best) yet, we will eventually get to the field but the process gets tiresome. I love being in Churches all across our country but I don't like to ring to get the speaking engagement. I must admit I do like to travel, it is long most of the time...but the view along the way reminds me of how beautiful this world must have been when the Lord created it...especially this time of year.

It has been a busy two months on our deputation trail we have been in nine churches most of which where missions conferences...from Tioga, PA to North Carolina, then up to Johnstown, NY to Baltimore, Maryland, then south to Luray, VA then back to Louisville, Ohio then west to Eaton, Ohio then back to Jamestown, NY. We've had 98% of them indicate that they would like to be a part of our ministry and one has already rang me to tell us that they voted to do just that. Well of course what is coming in and that is now 56%. Hopefully next letter I can report a larger increase but all in the Lord good timing.

We have seen many people come to the alters and deal with things that the Lord has laid on their hearts, even some for salvation...so even though we have been called to Australia the Lord has given us a time to minister to the hearts of people here in the States along the way. We praise the Lord for every decision that has been made and I must admit...it is those decisions...that keep us going.

We, again, thank you all for the chance to share our ministry with you along the way and a special thanks to those who have come aboard to partner with us already. May the Lord continue to bless you as you serve Him.

Letter from Australia

August 20, 2009 Report

Dear Pastor and Church,

Since our last prayer letter we have left Ohio and went to Windsor Virginia, Missions Camp in Arkansas, Wichita Kansas, Kansas City Missouri and back to Ohio to preach and share our story, and our burden to reach Australians for Christ. Each church we visit has a character all its own and yet the same heart felt desire...to provide a place where people can come to hear the truth of God's Word. From God's Word we find true meaning for life and everything we do is to fulfill that premise. We want our people to have a personal, intimate walk with the Lord Jesus Christ. We know and teach that is the only way man will have victory over the storms of life. There is such a oneness among the brethren to do this.

With all the storms out there that come into our lives...in the house of God there are answers...there is a peace that passes understanding. We have a God that loves His people and every time He permits a trial, to come our way, He is always there to help us and to know it is for our good and His glory.

It was great to go to missions camp where we have some time to refresh and meet some of our friends, friends that are so involved in missions work. Those that God has called to leave family and friends to serve on foreign fields, but we are not any different that those that God has called to stay and help those that have gone by prayer and financial help. I believe it is a lot harder to stay, and study, and work to build the house of God, here in the States, to stay strong so we can go.

Last letter we were at 48%, we are now at 52%...thank you for your help, it won't be long till we have our total support...it just takes a little time. This past week was a blessing because 6 different Pastors rang me and said they wanted to get involved in our ministry. This has never happened before...so you see...it's happening. Keep praying!

Letter from Ron and Vicki Letts

Pastor and Church Family,

Once again it is time for a letter to go out to our churches. What I would like to start with is deputation. Having 20 years in the country of Australia our goal was, has been, and will always be to prepare ourselves to preach regularly every week, to evangelize as well as a disciple, to bring our people step by step to a closer walk with the Lord. Our goal (and I know yours as well) is to perfect the saints to do the work of the ministry. You know your people, you are growing together and you have a plan. Week by week you know what you have to do to get them to grow and change.

Deputation is so different, you are usually in one church for about one hour sharing what you believe God wants you to do. You share a message from God's Word and then you are on your way. You often wonder what that message did or has done or is doing. But one thing you do know is that His Word will never come back void.

I know that God is faithful, even when you can not see everything happening that you want, and at your time table. People getting saved, lives changed, and all the while God is preparing His servants for His work. Along the way our Lord is raising up other believers who pray and give to win lost Australians with the Gospel of Christ. It might not be happening as quickly as we would want but God is giving us churches that are partnering with us to get the job done. As a result we are at nearly 48% of our needed support and look forward to many more churches joining us. Thank you!

Down Under

April 8, 2009

Dear Pastor and Church family,

Spring is here and I am one for praising the Lord…..We just got back from Vermont where the snow was still on the ground and more was to come, by the time we hit Ohio the grass was green….I don’t know about you but I am ready for the warmer weather. We get tired with the long driving but really do enjoy preaching in churches across our beautiful country. I would rather be on the field preaching and teaching God’s Word to Australians….seeing them trust in the Lord as their Savior and growing in the Christ, but right now the Lord has this for us so we are going to praise the Lord for every soul no matter where they are in our world.

Of course….my point of this letter is to let you know how things are going as far as raising our support to get back on the field …. So briefly, we picked up 5 more churches last month and one this month. That takes us to about 43% of our need support, some months are better then others but all in the Lord’s perfect timing. The last couple of weeks we where in Connecticut, Maryland, Virginia, and Vermont and hopefully we will be able to partner with those churches we shared with. We never know until a couple of months later so we will keep you up dated. Coming up are Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana and Illinois so please continue to pray for partners in Christ for Australia.

You know we got our truck repaired from the accident and then discovered that the transmission went out. We had that rebuild and now it’s back on the road as good as new (I hope….because it is the truck that I am using on deputation). I cannot begin to thank you enough for standing with us. Whatever you do keep on praising our Savior and serving Him and He will bring forth the fruit that we so desire to see in our lives. It is all about Him not you or me. Don’t grow weary in well doing, keep on keeping on.

Ron and Vicki Letts

February 2, 2008

Dear Pastor and Church family,

We had a pretty busy “fall speaking schedule” sharing our ministry with many churches during August to the end of November…even up to the first two weeks in December. Of course Christmas came and went…..a great time to be with family, Christmas is certainly a wonderful time of the year. Then the new year came in, and now it is February, can you believe it? Time just keeps on flying by. We have a pretty good itinerary for February through the end of April. The months to follow are looking pretty thin though, but we have time to fill in those dates so I’ll be on the phone. Please pray to that end, that the Lord would direct us to those who would partner with us in Australia.

Really, the reason for this letter is to update you with our progress. We have picked up 5 new churches this month that has partnered with us which takes us to 37%. With the economy the way it is it is not easy to find a church that will even talk to you about coming. Praise the Lord, He is not limited to the condition of our economy. So we plow through the many phone calls and pretty soon the Lord gives us one.

We still have been concentrating on the eastern States for now but are willing to go anywhere to present our ministry in Australia. If you receive this letter and have not had us come, give us a ring and we will set a date, we are wanting to get back to Australia as soon as possible, the Lord works through you to send us and we would love to partner with you.

Oh! by the way…….. we got my truck fixed. Have a great day and may the Lord continue to bless you and yours.

Ron Lett's from Austrailia

December 1, 2008

Dear Pastor and Church family,

Once again I want you to know we are continuing the work of deputation. The last time I wrote I mentioned that we had six churches that had come aboard as of October 1….well we have 13, now to which we praise the Lord and others that said they would come aboard soon. That gives us close to 30% of our needed support. We have spoke in churches in Vermont, New Hampshire, New York, Massachusetts, Virginia and Ohio…a lot of miles but worth it all. I praise the Lord for your kindness in meeting our needs and sharing your time with us. I know that we live in tough times but at the same time when things are tough I know the Lord shows Himself strong in each one of our lives.

We still have been concentrating on the eastern States for now but are willing to go anywhere to present our ministry in Australia. If you receive this letter and have not had us come, give us a ring and we will set a date, we are wanting to get back to Australia as soon as possible, the Lord works through you to send us and we would love to partner with you to do so.

Unfortunately, as I was driving….cars in front of us stopped all of a sudden but I couldn’t get my truck stopped in time and rear-ended another truck, mine being a mid-size Dodge ran into a Dodge Ram, bigger truck and messed up the front of mine. He didn’t hardly get a scratch….that’s the struggles you face when your on the road all the time. I have a 2005 truck which has 122,000 miles on it already. So far it’s been a good vehicle…now if we could only get the driver to work better.

I cannot believe it is almost Christmas….My wife, Vicki and I want to wish you a wonderful Christmas a great time of the year to share Christ. May the Lord continue to bless you and your fellowship.

Ron & Vicki Letts - October Newsletter

October 1, 2008

Dear Pastor & Church Family,

We have been working hard at presenting our ministry to churches throughout the eastern United States. We have 6 churches on board and several more that have said they were going to be a part of our missions support team. We have about 21% of our needed support at this pint...still that is not enough to live on while traveling full time on deputation. It's great to have this opportunity to share our ministry with churches that are alive for world missions, not just over seas but here in the States as well. Paul reminds us "that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of seep:...the night is far spent, the day is at hand: Let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light." Meaning we have the light that shines in darkness...and the world is living in darkness, having no hope, we have that hope we need to wake up and let our lights shine, proclaiming and teaching God's Word to the nations now!

We live in exciting times so we need to know that it is important to proclaim and prepare for the Lord's coming. The Lord knows what we need and through these months of deputation He will, once again, prepare us to work with them.

Thank you for helping us get there...we sure need your prayers and support. We have the experience and the want to minister to the people Down Under. As we team up together we can carry out the Great Commission together. Thank you for what you have done and what you will be doing in Australia. Let's do it together.
