Gateway Update
May 31st 2009

Dear fellow partners in the ministry in the Middle East,

You have helped reach villages that were previously unreached by purchasing a vehicle and gas and paying for the expenses of the workers to get there. You have helped pay for rent of buildings which have lodged scores of people and where we have baptized at and taught the King’s word from. You have helped your fellow brothers and sisters who are in need by paying for medical needs, feeding them, donating clothing and financial giving and you have also helped to purchase Bibles, DVDs and Christian materials to be distributed.

We at G.E.S. and those at Beytel Churches are grateful and thank you for being obedient to the King in your sacrificial giving and supplications. Below is just a sample of what you have been involved with.

Another Baptism at Beytel West!
Today (Sunday, 31st May) we joyfully baptized brother “B.” at Beytel. He gave his testimony of how by coming to the lessons taught every Wednesday night that he has come to faith and by obedience to the King was baptized at Beytel Church. He told “J.” today that he has been praying for his wife and daughter to come Christ. Please pray with this newly baptized brother that those in his household would come to the knowledge of the King and for his spiritual growth.
Zacchaeus Medical Project
G.E.S. flew the two Kurdish girls and their father from Twin Mountain Province that we visited in April. The girls have a genetic disease that affects their skin and results in white, black, red spots, discoloration, flaking, boils, peeling, hair loss etc... It looks like what you would think leprosy would look like. (see photos on Facebook). Pastor Abdullah and I took them to one of the best dermatologists in the city for treatments. The doctor sent the two girls out of the room after examining them and spoke to their father, Abdullah and I. He said the girls may not have long to live and to have them live as best as they possibly can. We bought creams and medicine that will help the symptoms but I wanted to weep all day after hearing this. We shared the gospel with the father and the children that day and prayed with them. We told them the only salvation and hope they can have is in the King. On Friday on the way to the airport, I was able to talk in more detail with the father and he was speaking about how awful the world is, specifically mentioning Saddam Hussein and how he massacred the Kurds in Halapcha. This again gave me the opportunity to share that these people are without the knowledge of the Bible and the only way we can have peace and hope is in Isa Mesih (Jesus Christ) and He is the savior. He replied, “God willing Jesus Christ will save us too”. When we arrived at the airport he asked me, “When you come to our village again could you bring a copy of God’s word? I want to read it.” I pulled a copy that I keep in the vehicle, explained where to begin in his reading, gave it to him and prayed with him and his children.

We are praying for a miracle of healing of both physically and spiritual for the girls and their family. Join with us. (“J.” of G.E.S.)

Preaching and Evangelism to Turks in Scotland
“E.” and “J.” of G.E.S. will be heading to Scotland this week. Pray for their health and for their preparation for their meetings and for the openness of the hearts of the listeners.

J. of G.E.S.
